Based in Seattle, Trio de Bois began as a student chamber group at the University of Utah with Clarinetist Lori Wakley Shepherd, Oboist Nicole Marriott Fullmer, and Bassoonist Elizabeth Ball Crawford at the helm. As the years have passed, they have collaborated with numerous other musicians, such as Allison Andersen (piano), Melissa Sky-Eagle (piano), Erika Bright (oboe), and Robyn Watson (bassoon), who is now a core member of the group.

Trio de Bois has released one full-length album, Taking Root, in 2019. Through a successful Call for Scores in 2020, they have begun recording for their next release. They performed a selection of these new pieces at the 2022 International Double Reed Society conference in Boulder, CO, and are in the process of scheduling performances of even more of these fantastic new works.

Trio de Bois believes that at the heart of chamber music is collaboration. Even though the faces behind the creation of the music may change, the connection remains the same. Because of this, we desire to make sure we recognize the contributions of everyone with whom we work.
